A review of CD-Wow
By: Adam Wiskar
Well, first thing I have to say is that I don’t need to tell you what this site is about because unless you didn’t read or pay attention to the title of this article then you should already know what this site is about. If you don’t then you’ll just have to read this article. If you do know what the site is about then you should read it anyway.
Now that you’re reading this, I’ll get down to what you wanted to know. CD Wow is a site that sells CDs, DVDs, MP3 equipment and games. When you bring up the main page you get a list of some of the CDs to offer along with a couple of ‘essential’ DVDs. Down each side you have a Top 20 chart list and a place for you to access the rest of the site. I think that this is a bit like the Play website layout but not as extreme because you do have quite a bit of clutter but it’s not distracting you.
The layout is organised in the top half of the page because it allows easy access to most of the site and is generally where you’ll be spending most of your time. You have a set of tabs at the top to try and entice you into each area. These are very easy on your eye and the simplicity means you don’t need to make about three thousand clicks to get to where you want to go.
Each of the categories I mentioned above have quite a big variety of items to choose from but since this is a music website, it’s mainly focused on music. In my opinion, I think there are very few places that are cheaper than CD-Wow and offer free delivery.
I recently ordered three CDs from them and after checking Amazon and typing each album into Froogle, I found that CD-Wow were the cheapest by far. So, I went ahead and ordered the CDs and I discovered something very much to my liking that I haven’t seen anywhere else. The site gives you the choice of not signing up for a membership which is good because I just wanted to make one order from them. So, I put in the necessary details and within about 3 days, I recevied my CDs in 3 boxes with a bunch of little advertisements offering me free prints or something.
I looked on the back of one of the boxes and saw that it had come from Hong Kong which surprised me because the delivery was rather quick considering Hong Kong is on the other side of the world! The boxes and CDs were in great condition so they traveled to me safely and I didn’t have to be import costs.
I think you can tell that I was rather impressed with the service. As for the other parts of the site, there are other places that offer better prices and more variety but for music CDs then this is the place to order from. I couldn’t reccomend this site any more for your music needs.
