Hoover Vacuum Cleaners - Not Just Any Ordinary Vacuum Cleaner

By: Tim Gorman

Hoover vacuum cleaners were where the vacuum cleaner started. Murray Spangler made the original just after the turn of the twentieth century. He was a janitor and inventor who suffered from Asthma. When he was cleaning carpets, the dust was not very good for him so he invented a simple machine from a fan and a broom handle that sucked up the dust as he cleaned. Luckily for him the friend that he asked to try it out, was the wife of the owner of a small leather workshop. She liked it and told her husband about it. He saw that it had potential and bought the patent, but still kept Spangler on as a consultant. His name was “Boss” Hoover. Soon the success of the new venture was assured, both due to the quality and innovation of the product and also due to his skills in selling the idea.

After the launch of the new product the company continued with its innovations. The most noticeable in their early years was the beater bar. This is a small piece of metal that actually used to tap the carpet as it moved along and it helped to loosen the entire dirt. The Hoover then sucked this up. The two together made the Hoover vacuum cleaners a lot better than anything else that was on the market. It also set a standard for the other companies to follow.

Hoover vacuum cleaners have always been known for their reliability and this has been a major selling point that has helped them to build such a huge market share. They have a lot of new products that have some really great innovations, like powerful dust filters that will help allergy sufferers to cope with the dust mites and pollen that can affect them.

Hoover vacuum cleaners are still the best selling cleaners in the US and are known and respected for their quality and attention to detail throughout the world. The very name Hoover is used as a byword for vacuum cleaners. Recently they have been introducing some very innovative new products. They are a very forward thinking company and have a very good design department that is at the front of the new technologies. Hoover are one of the top companies in the US and this has been recognized when they were recently voted one of the top one hundred companies that changed America.
