By: Eileen Hammel

There are few things that women dread more than having to shop for a swimsuit. A recent survey discovers that most women rather do virtually anything even clean the bathroom than to shop for a swimsuit. Now by using the techniques of Illusion Dressing and applying the following color, pattern, garment design, fit and fabric expert tips you will easily be able to select swimsuits that not only flatter your figure but can reshape and transform your figure no matter what shape or size you maybe.

Color

Color is one of the fastest and easiest ways to enhance and reshape your figure. Select swimsuits with color combos that place the lightest or brightest colors in the combo on the areas of your body you want to accurately show off and place the darkest colors in the combo on areas of your body you want minimize. You should always select swimsuits in colors that flatter your skin tones.

Pattern

Pattern can be an important ally in selecting a swimsuit that will flatter and enhance your figure. A small to medium print can actually be more flattering to the body than a solid suit. It will confuse the eye without calling attention to any body part in particular. Horizontal lines enlarge areas they are worn over. Vertical lines slim and elongate areas it is worn over. Diagonal lines detract attention away from areas they are worn over.

Garment design

To successfully use the design of a swimsuit to enhance and reshape your figure you need to beware of the lines create by the construction of the swimsuit such as necklines, armhole, leg hole placement, zippers , ruffles, slit, hemline, pleats, cutouts, ect . When evaluating the lines created by the construction of a swimsuit remember horizontal lines enlarge areas they are worn over, vertical lines slim and elongate areas it is worn over, diagonal lines detract attention away from areas they are worn over and curved lines add curves to areas they are worn over. Ruching is great for concealing full tummy, bust or butt. The leg opening on your suit should start at the widest part of your hip no higher.

Fit

When selecting a swimsuit be sure it is not so small that it digs into you or so big that it sags when wet. Swimsuits that cover at least ¾ of the breast, from your armpit over are the most flattering for all breast sizes.

Fabric

The best swimsuit fabrics to slim your figure are fabrics that have at least 15 percent spandex. And fabrics that has a four way stretch them.
