Like the previous dual battery PVS-14 system, the new single battery system features variable gain, allowing the user to manually adjust the gain control in varying light conditions, a built-in IR illuminator for complete darkness conditions and Automatic Brightness Control (ABC) for accidental or unexpected exposures to immediate bright light. Using an ITT Generation 3 military style intensifier tube in a compact high performance single AA battery housing, this unit can be handheld, head-mounted, helmet-mounted and is camera and camcorder adaptable.

Unlike most other night vision devices, the PVS-14 is the premier choice for military operations and law enforcement applications in that it is rugged, durable, features a state-of-the-art U.S. manufactured Generation 3 night vision intensifer tube.
