Do you struggle to buy your wife that perfect gift? You are not alone. I know one man who bought his wife a car buffer for Christmas. This might have been a great gift if his wife ever washed the car.

Great gifts don’t have to be expensive. They just have to show thoughtfulness and effort. Giving the right gift enhances the romance in your marriage.

Here are five secrets for buying the perfect gift for your wife:

1. Go shopping with her

You will accomplish two things. First, your wife will appreciate the time you spend with her. Second, you can figure out what she likes. You will be amazed at the gift possibilities if you pay attention.

2. Notice what she talks about

This is how I found one of the most romantic gifts for my wife. She told me about an outfit she really liked, but decided not to get it. I thought it would make a nice gift, but the store had sold out of it. I drove 50 miles to another store to buy the item. Then I set it aside for our anniversary. Needless to say, my wife was surprised and pleased. It was not an expensive gift, but it was a great one because of the effort I put in to it.

3. Get to know your wife better

The better you know your wife’s desires and dreams, the easier it is to buy gifts she enjoys.

4. Don’t wait until the last minute to buy a gift

If you wait until the last minute, you will end up just buying something convenient. Start thinking about the gift early.

5. Be creative

Don’t get into the rut of buying her the same thing over and over. There was a man who found his wife liked a certain perfume and bought it for her at Christmas. She was delighted by the gift. However, he bought her the same perfume for the next ten years. After ten years, she was no longer surprised. He had quit putting much thought into the gift. The repetition will diminish the romance of a gift.

You can buy your wife the perfect gift. All it takes is a little extra thought and effort.
