Have you ever strained your voice mimicing the robotic cyberman? A voice changing helmet might just save your voicebox from destruction. A Cyberman polished helmet has been produced by Character Group plc. By speaking into an inbuilt microphone your voice is changed into that of a robot.

Speak Like A Cyberman

The Cyberman Voice Changer is already proving difficult to get hold of and is likely to be a top toy for Christmas. It has pre-recorded sound effects and lights and a unit which converts spoken voice into robotic speech. There are three buttons located on the lower right of the helmet which activate the workings of the helmet. This is what happens when you press each of the buttons:

Button 1 : The first button plays nine authentic recorded phrases including “You will be deleted", "Once I was human”, "I am Cyberthon”, “You will be taken for upgrading”, “You will become identical, you will become like us” and “Resistance is illogical, you will be upgraded".

Button 2: When you press this button and speak into the built in microphone inside the helmet, your voice will be changed into the voice of a Cyberman. It’s a lot less of a strain on your voice box than trying to make this sound by yourself!

Button 3: Pressing this button plays a stun grip cyber weapon sound.

The Cyberman voice changer also has a blue light which operates via batteries and glows in a line in the mouth area. This adds to the authenticity of the helmet and is great for glow in the dark outburst of Cyberman phrases.

Resistance is Illogical

The helmet has quite a fun value to it. It is well put together and has all the qualities required for scaring grandma after Sunday lunch. The good thing about the Cyberman Voice Changer helmet is that it is a 1:1 replica of a Cyberman’s Helmet so it is big enough to fit grown ups as well as children. A strap adjusts to fit. Grandma might just want to have a play with it too!

Summary

The helmet is great fun for anyone who is interested in Dr Who Science Fiction, kids and adults alike. It is a sociable toy which is great for use as part of role play and dressing up fun and perfect to bring out at parties but has limited play value for extended periods of time.
